Vidya Bhavan College Of Commerce
.
Vidya Bhavan College was started with a Vision, which was articulated as follows: To provide an anchor for the less privileged, for those students who scored a lower percentage and to give them an opportunity to experience the same academic excellence offered elsewhere.
In this mad scramble for admissions our focus on the students with a lower percentage has borne fruit, in that our persistent efforts to foster academic and extra-curricular interests and to shape the students’ character and attitude has led to better performance and even merit. This has resulted in a better opportunity for the students to find gainful employment and make a valuable contribution to society.
The college is particular about discipline and attendance of the students and enforces strict regulations to ensure that the students imbibe the right values and approach to life. Internal examinations are conducted and the results are notifies on the notice board. Parents of students who are having low attendance are called to the college for informing them of their ward’s attendance.
Social awareness is developed in the students through the syllabus content as well as through workshops is developed in the students through the syllabus content as well as through workshops and outreach or exposure programs conducted for the benefit of the students, thus inculcating in them a desire to serve the less privileged.
Inter-religious understanding, dialogue and awareness is also built up through prayer services, lectures, and openness to all faiths and cultures.
Our teachers are always accessible to the students for solving their personal or academic difficulties. Our college has a full-time counsellor who gives individual attention to students with problems, helping them verbalise their problems, frustrations, disappointments with a view to seeking solutions and coping up with difficulties, apart from preparing them for their career and making the right decisions in life.
Thus our vision has been realized to go beyond the self-centred, enabling the students and teachers to look both inward and outward and embrace the needs of the wider and changing society.
